Ben's Bio
The Beginning
Ben Weddington is a Memphis, Tennessee native with a passion for the great outdoors. He grew up hunting and can remember going quail hunting on the family farm with his father before he could even walk. From there his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing has grown tremendously. Ben began competition duck calling very early on, winning numerious titles across the South East, and when he wasn't practicing or competing he spent every spare moment in the outdoors. He got his start in the Outdoor Industry in early 2003. At age 13 and in only the 8th grade, he and a close friend first created, wrote, and published an outdoor magazine exclusively for teenagers called, "HunTeen Magazine." It was the first magazine of its kind, targeting the younger generation of outdoorsmen. HunTeen Magazine proved to be a success, winning awards and generating an impressive fan base. A year later he was asked to join Bass Pro Shops new Next Generation ProTeam, modeled after the theme of his magazine...The Next Generation of Outdoorsman.
Television Career
Only a year after joining the team, Ben was selected to co-host Bass Pro Shops' new television show, "The Next Generation", which he still currently stars on. The show airs on TheOutdoorChannel and has been a major hit with viewers and the industry since its first episode. On the show, he travels with a camera crew of skilled videographers, hunting and fishing all over the nation. When filming, they try to make the show as entertaining and enjoyable as possible for the viewers while hunting game and fishing both fresh and saltwater. The show also offers tips to help viewers become more successful outdoorsmen and portray the outdoors as it should be...fun and enjoyable for both young and old. When he's not filming for the show or in the woods scouting out that perfect hunting spot, Ben is writing, making personal appearances, giving various seminars, introducing newcomers to the sport, and promoting our Great Outdoors
Ben is also a member of the Realtree ProStaff and has a long list of other sponsors including Oakley Sunglasses, Browning Firearms, Winchester Ammunition, Thompson Center Arms, UnderArmour, etc

Ben is one of the stars/co-hosts of the award winning, hit television show, "Bass Pro Shops Next Generation." The show appeals to a very large viewer audience and is filmed and produced by Bass Pro Shops own award-winning Video Productions team. It's reality television, with all the bumps, scrapes, mistakes, and triumphs of real life outdoor action plus plenty of how to for those ready to get out and give it a try.

In addition to starring on "The Next Generation," Ben has made guest appearances on several other outdoor T.V. shows, done radio interviews, and has been featured on popular News Shows such as Fox's, Fox and Friends.In addition to the seasons of "The Next Generation" that you can find in stores,Ben has also starred in 2 Hunting DVD's and he has been featured on Bass Pro Shops' "King Of Buck's" series with his Missouri Monster from the '08 season
PRINT / PUBLICATIONS
Ben got his start in the outdoor industry in the magazine business. He and a friend created HunTeen Magazine as a way to get the younger generation involved in the outdoors. The magazine was a success from its first printing and really grabbed the attention of the larger corporations in the business. It opened up a whole new world to Ben and he used it to his advantage to spark his career.
Ben has been featured in many magazine articles including the popular Field and Stream. He has also been in many local and national newspapers' spotlight. He still writes articles and conducts interviews for various magainzes and websites, such as The Hunting Authority, stating that writing is one of his favorite past times.
Whether he's hunting or fishing, you're sure to love reading about Ben's outdoor adventures.
